The initiative will help make the single market more competitive and fair, benefiting individuals and workers on the move, companies and public authorities. It will:

• modernise, simplify and digitalise social security coordination and labour mobility,
• make qualifications and skills more portable to support free movement,
• improve enforcement by strengthening the European Labour Authority,
• bring legal clarity to EU mobility laws,
• boost EU strategic autonomy and ease skills and labour shortages.
